Review of The Monuments Men (2014) by David S — 02 Dec 2014
The Momuments Men has received a lot of flack, but it's strong cast, dialogue and general schematics results in a movie that's not too bad. Yes, it may feel at times the actors and director aren't trying anymore.
However, it is built off a good premise and has an enjoyable touch to it. Some might say it lacks action, but counter to this view, it is a story about art and beauty, and the debate on whether art is more important than human life.
George Clooney is a very apathetic actor, who never seems like he tries too hard on screen and simply is himself. This affects his movies, and not pleasantly. Regardless, it is a touching movie, and it has very good moments.
