Review of The Monster Squad (1987) by Daryl R — 14 Mar 2010
Fred Dekker's masterpiece needs no review so let me encapsulate some of the best moments from this incredible film. "My name...is Horace", "Wolfman's got nards!", "Give me the amulet you bitch", the subplot with the sister's virginity, Rudy, Mary Ellen Trainor again playing a mom, the army actually showing up after reading that note, Dracula's love of dynamite, Frankenstein's photography skills, Rudy spitting soda twice, the father and son bonding while sitting on the roof, Mr.
Alucard, the shot of crazy old man's concentration camp tattoo, Scraps, Rudy stealing the bow, the montage (Rock Until You Drop indeed) and everything else. Go and watch this now, my highest recommendation.
