Review of The Monster Maker (1944) by John P — 20 Jul 2008
At just over an hour, this "B" horror flick felt drawn out a bit. Still, the villainous Dr. Igor "Frankenstein" Markoff (Naish) is juicily insidious and, given what little material she had to work with, loyal lab assistant Maxine (Tala Birell) manages to be more captivating than the object of Markoff's desires.
Good makeup effects depict the pianist's hideous transformation.
