Review of The Mist (2007) by Matt — 06 Oct 2008
Really bad horror movie. Absolutely awful. I guess it only takes 3 days in a fully food-stocked grocery store for humans to revert back to the tribal stage of society. There's a bunch of really obvious, bad commentary on small towns, religion, and the military - insulting to each group in its own way.
The monsters are incredibly bland. If we're to understand correctly, these things come from another dimension, but the best they could come up with is bigger versions of dragonflies, pterodactyls, squids, spiders, and lobsters? Fun fact: If you imagine the protagonist screaming "JUMANJIIIIIII" at the end instead of just screaming, it almost makes it worth the rental price in pure comedic value.
Almost.
