Review of The Mist (2007) by James W — 04 May 2013
The Mist is a frightening experience, the silence of the setting makes the atmosphere constantly haunting, and the cast performances are some of the best I've ever seen in a horror movie. A lot of modern horrors feature pointless violence that doesn't really add anything to the experience, but the violence in The Mist isn't excessive although when the creatures attack the gore spills gloriously and it's all for the best, as you hope the characters will survive, and watching some of them suffer is horrific.
Featuring one of the saddest and shocking endings in a horror, The Mist is hands down one of the most compelling movies, you genuinely feel part of the group stuck in the shop!
