Yes, I haven't reviewed a Stephen King movie in ages so it's time to make my comeback to reviewing one of his classics- The Mist (2007). The story is about David Drayton played by Thomas Jane who works as a poster designer and along with his son Billy played by Nathan Gamble go to the grocery store to buy some food for a meal.

But when a thick fog traps David and Billy inside the store, they also realise that what is hiding in the mist are an army of supernatural creatures waiting to pounce on their victims. We meet our Stephen King stereotypes such as the writer, the alcoholic, the adulterer, his whore, the dumb rednecks, the lame ass ending, the unexplained supernatural being and the bully; oh and I also forgot that everyone in a Stephen King story is a jackass except for the insecure poet and the loser and of course who can forget that every single one of his stories take place in Maine.

The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden as a religious fucktard who wants everyone to be trapped in the building forever but thank god the Punisher punished her. The film also stars Laurie Holden as Amanda Dumfrey also known as David's potential fuck buddy and Andre Braugher from the shitty remake of Poseidon stars as Brent, a guy who lost in a case against David.

Other cast members include Toby Jones and William Sadler. While I do give this movie credit for giving us the old-fashioned scares, I just wish it could have done a lot more to make the film more tense, more creepy and to give us more solid scares.

The Mist (2007) gets a 8.5/10.
