Review of The Mission (1986) by Matthew T — 20 Feb 2008
I have heard this film described as "long", I didn't find it so. I found it to be utterly compelling from start to finish. Murder, redemption, friendship, betrayal and the bureaucracy of the church of Rome it's all explored here exceptionally well.
Plus the score by Morricone is incredible, almost to be expected with Morricone, but still to be appreciated.
