Review of The Misfits (1961) by Paul P — 16 Nov 2009
Another Huston film that everyone loves and I thought was solid. It's a nice story of men living a lifestyle that is not only out of date but is becoming harder and harder to maintain. And one day they meet a woman who changes there view on things.
Nothing that's mindblowingly profound but solid. The performances are great across the board except Monroe. Her innocent, naive, breathy delivery just doesn't work here. And the scenes when she's off stand out even more when she shares the screen with Clift, Gable, Wallach and Ritter.
