Review of The Mirror Crack'd (1980) by Mark Karl H — 21 Mar 2009
It's a shame Angela Lansbury didn't continue the role of Jane Marple (like Peter Ustinov did with Poirot). She was wonderful in this adaptation of Christie's novel, it was a hoot seeing Elizabeth Taylor and Kim Novak sparring as washed-up middle aged actresses, Tony Curtis and Rock Hudson as their significant others and a young Geraldine Chaplin as a nosy troublemaker, this one is up there with "Death On The Nile" (where Lansbury played a different character!) as one of my favorite Christie adaptations.
Taylor's character, "Marina" is apparently based on the life of Gene Tierney.
