By the superb direction of Arthur Penn and the notable script by William Gibson, The Miracle Worker is poignant and impressive biopic about Annie Sullivan, a teacher assigned to teach Helen Keller, a blind and deaf girl, to learn sign language.
The leading ladies are played by the oustanding Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke, who, in a short scene of nine minutes, manage to show their towering talent in one of the most terrifying and honest scenes in film history.
