A wonderfully acted tale of two misfits who become friends when one teaches the other how to read. Max is physically able but a little slow academically whereas Kevin is physically disabled but a genius.
When they realise that two broken people can make one magnificent being, they join together to become Freak the Mighty. The acting from Kieran Culkin and Elden Henson is beautiful, and the supporting cast is fantastic - especially Harry Dean Stanton and Gena Rowlands as Gram and Grim.
