Review of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by Brandon N — 26 Feb 2010
I think Vinnie Jones was an ultimate badass and was the real star of the film; he can give you the creep in every single frame he is in. Jones should be in more movies and I mean thearterical movies not striaght to dvd shit.
Anyway, The Midnight Meat Train is a decent gory suspensful thriller filled without a single boring moment. Some scenes were brilliantly shot that will fully get your attention such as the second killing, the ones at the motel and the final "battle".
I am not sure about the ending though; you will either hate or love ( I myself stand somewhere between I found it stupid but in a good way ). The ending has the feel that the movie is really inspired from a short story and I guess that`s somehow can be cinsidered a flaw.
I also have to say that Bradley Cooper, who was not a big deal back then, gave a very good performance especially in the second half when his obession began; I think that his character was well written as well and its development throgh the film was clear.
I am really peased with The Midnight Meat Train and really hope to see a good horror like this in the future.
