Review of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by Lloyd D — 12 Jan 2011
An excellant Aaption of a Clive Barker story that's up there with Hellraiser but also suffer from that films flaw as well. A photograher who takes pictures of the city gets a juicy shoot but becomes fasinated by a strange busnessman who boards the late late train but he finds out the man is not only a murderer but also could be supernatural as well.
The acting is well done esp. by Cooper, Shelds of whom is welcome to see as she's still an awesome actress and Jones thu he cant act he def kills with style and suits the Mad Man look nicely. All he needed was a fedora.
The direction sets up some great action and horror scenes and is smooth. Plenty of blood and gore plus a nasty tooth/fingernail removal that had me hide behind my fingers and thats RARE I do that(downright sick) but the strange ending plus the fact one victim makes Jones ill like he is rejecting the offering for whatever reason.
(best guess the victim wasnt a worthy offering or he had a disease) lowers it a star but still a worhy film and worth seeing.
