Haven't read the short story but as a horror film it is really good. Follows the modern trend of "over-gore" but with a different style and a horrifically brutal and disturbing undertone.
The idea of co-operation / corporation behind the main character's slayings and the premise of the ending is quite difficult to comprehend and interpret. A disturbing film, visually and emotionally, does go off a little at the end though.
