Review of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) by Regan H — 09 Apr 2012
While the ending may put some viewers off - despite being hinted at throughout the film - this is a visually impressive, well directed film with well above average acting for its genre and a soundtrack that hits, chills and thrills exactly where and when it should.
The only issue one might have with The Midnight Meat Train, is that it stays just on the border of horror-fantasy and slasher-horror, thereby not fully catering to either side. In return however, its atmospheric world balances on exactly the same edge, which should feel just right for most fans of Clive Barker, but may disappoint other viewers.
