I remember seeing the trailer for this in theaters and thinking, ?wow, that?s the craziest title since Snakes on a Plane.? I was surprised when it only managed to get released into discount theaters before being tossed onto dvd.

Such studio trouble can certainly make a movie something of a cause for genre fans and this can kind of cloud opinions. Seeing it, I do wish it had gotten a real release but I also think this is a pretty flawed movie.

Of course the first thing people are going to be interested in is the gore, which is conceptually pretty good but the execution leaves something to be desired. The movie uses some rather poor CGI in order to convey the bloodletting and it?s a pretty big distraction.

The movie?s other major problem is that it feels like it?s been padded in order to turn this Clive Barker short story into a feature length film, there?s just a lot of redundant stuff. On the bright side, I do think that the idea of setting a horror movie on a subway train was a good one, and I was more satisfied with the ending than I expected.

In the end, the movie provided me with a lot of images that will be stuck in my head, and that goes a long way.
