The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is directed and written by Noah Baumbach, and it stars Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel, and Emma Thompson in a dramedy about an interesting group of family that are living their lives when their father, who is a retired art sculptor, calls all three of them to come to an art event.

I was really curious, but worried about this film at first with Adam Sandler being in a film with a director/writer who can make a good movie, case in point The Cobbler, even though I've seen him in good stuff like Reign Over Me, Spanglish, and his best film in my opinion, Punch-Drunk Love.

So when I saw the reviews of this, I was relieved to know about it and is interested to see it when I have the chance. After watching this, I realized that I need to watch more of Noah Baumbach's previous films as I honestly kind of love this film.

Ben Stiller and Dustin Hoffman are great as they are usually are, which they play different characters to a degree, but Adam Sandler is surprisingly one of the best parts in this film as he's hilarious, and is actually likable in this, especially with his relationship with his daughter that's played by Grace Van Patten as they are adorable together with the father having a hobby of playing the piano and singing songs that he has written, while her daughter is acting in movies that are very out there and adult.

The writing by Noah Baumbach is really good that created a family that are very different from your typical family, and it's interesting to see how they act towards each other that can either go south, or go in a very nice and sweet way in their own version.

The family that Noah Baumbach has made does feel like an actual family that you probably seen a family that has acted like them, and it makes you feel a bit glad that you don't have to deal with them every 24/7.

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is a fantastic film that is all thanks to a cast that are at their best and a script that has a lot of funny lines while taking itself seriously with the drama moments from three perspectives from the characters.
