Review of The Mexican (2001) by Kim B — 27 Mar 2012
Easily forgettable, but entertaining enough if you have nothing better to do. I feel like both actors weren't really made for their parts. Johnny Depp would've been better as the main guy and someone like Reese Witherspoon as the girl.
One of those quirky type of plot and screenplay films I can see Pitt drawn too though. I think Roberts wardrobe stylist should've been fired. Her clothes, hair, and makeup were terrible and it's very hard to make Roberts look unflattering.
The plot was interesting with the story about the gun and I liked Winston's character and that mangy mutt the best. The script had a few witty, ironic lines that are good. The couple part was annoying and it's pretty bad when the most uncomfortable scenes aren't the violent ones, but the ones with the couple together.
The scene were Roberts shoots that guy was bad. I liked that the film was set in Mexico, made it different and cinematography was pretty.
