Review of The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999) by Rajiv P — 04 Dec 2007
If you're going to make a Joan of Arc movie, why not throw historical accuracy out the window? Accents are American, Russian, and English; F-Bombs abound; and Jesus is way creepy. Plus Dustin Hoffman as the Metatron.
I like it, but I like every Luc Besson film that most people hate. So five stars for being violent and anachronistic. Crows eating severed feet? Beautiful.
