Milla Jovovich is really good in this. The first half or so moves swiftly with some great action and some excellent characterizations. It goes downhill for Joan after that and then Dustin Hoffman shows up and makes a bit of a mess of things.
There are a few flaws in the telling and of course, the ending is a downer, but overall it's a pretty good movie.
