Review of The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999) by Ashley H — 09 Feb 2008
An interesting story but it would have been more enjoyable if Joan weren't so annoying. She spends most of the movie screaming and crying. It's believable that she could be hypnotized by the word of god because she's unbelievable as a regular person.
The worst and most confusing parts of the movie are the ones where she is talking to Dustin Hoffman. I didn't realize how long the movie was going to be but it held my attention and it didn't feel too long.
Some good moments but not especially amazing. Even the visuals are fairly average for the most part.
