Review of The Messenger (2009) by Jeremy P — 13 Jun 2010
The best thing about this is it gives you a glimpse into a world most aren't familiar with. The first hour or so is incredibly intense to watch, as the viewer waits in anticipation to see how these people will take the news that their loved ones have been killed in action.
Great performances. The perfect role for Woody Harrelson. I've said it once, but, keep an eye out for Ben Foster. The guy's got a good career ahead of him. Really gifted actor. This one flirts with a few indie cliches toward the end, but it didn't ruin the film for me.
Good, although sad, watch.
