Review of The Messenger (2009) by Michael R — 14 Nov 2010
The strength of this film is easily its acting. You probably already know about Woody Harrelson thanks to his Oscar nomination, but Ben Foster and Samantha Morton both show up in a big way with tender and at times agonizing performances displaying the damage that war can take, both on the home front and across the sea.
Although you've already heard about Harrelson's performance, it should be mention again due to its deep portrayal of a man who has done his job so long that he forgot what lies at the heart of it.
