Review of The Message (1976) by Willem W — 22 Oct 2007
Faced with the challenge of making a film wherein it is a sin to depict the main character, director Moustapha Akkad does an admirable job of conveying the early history of Islam. A few too many scenes of cast members staring reverently into the camera (representing the Prophet Muhammad's point of view).
But considering the formidable limitation, Akkad made an interesting film.
