Review of The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009) by Moses R — 18 Feb 2011
"The Men Who Stare At Goats" 10 Scale Rating: 6.0 (Above Average) ...
Entertaining at times, excruciatingly slow at others, "The Men Who Stare At Goats" flies just barely above mediocre.
Based on a novel that is loosely based on a true story, "The Men Who Stare at Goats" follows a down on his luck journalist who comes across a man who was once part of a secret military unit. The unit's task? To create super soldiers that can walk through walls, become invisible and stop a man's heart with their mind.
It was entertaining and the acting was good enough to keep my interest, but a few of the scenes were way too long. Most them involved conversations between lead characters that seemed to go on forever with little to no entertainment value. At times, it seemed like they were trying to fill an entire 90 minutes and didn't have enough material to do so.
