Review of The Meg (2018) by Goneforcoffee — 14 Dec 2018
This is the type of movie Jason Statham often appears in. It is action packed and offers some good CGI effects. But there is nothing positive to say about the rest. The story starts off with a good but not great premise and it is nearly believable in explaining how the giant prehistoric shark came to be swimming around among people with some real original ideas.
However it quickly falls flat from that point onwards, getting more and more cringe worthy with every minute. The acting is poor; with none of the cast coming across as believable. The only positive mention being Cliff Curtis who does a fairly decent job all things considered.
Take the movie for what it is: A cringe worthy load of nonsense, in a fast paced CGI wrapped package.
