Review of The Meg (2018) by Roy Hector K — 19 Aug 2018

I thought that the story in general was derivative and generic, and the characterizations not so well done. I also didn't like the pandering to China by having Chinese actors who (except for the kid) gave flat performances and weren't really up to Hollywood standards.

However, overall the movie does deliver big time in terms of the thrills, making it a somewhat successor to the "Jaws" movie. It is highly entertaining, and that is the only reason why I am recommending this film.
