Review of The Medallion (2003) by Austen C — 07 Jun 2007
Jackie Chan has always been about two things: martial arts, and comedy. Story, plot, bravado, and everything else come second. Chan seems to have brought fun to kung fu and has continued to do so in every film he has made.
This is not because he can't act, but because he feels impelled to provide the audience with something different. In that context I reevaluate my critique and ratings of his movies, but at the same time I am forced to rate the overall outcome.
This movie is pretty awful even with the comedy and martial arts taken into account.
