Review of The Medallion (2003) by William M — 10 Aug 2009
Another absurd plot with plenty of Chan-style fights. I think the first half of the movie was better though, when Eddie Yang is just strait beating up bad guys. The second half turns the fight scenes into something supernatural, and the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style is less entertaining compared to Chan's previous stunts and martial arts.
What makes this film feel genuine is the presence of Claire Forlani, who plays great as the partner/love interest of Chan. Unfortunately, Lee Evans, as the bumbling Arthur Watson sidekick, completely turns the movie into goofy children's entertainment.
