Review of The Mechanic (2011) by Tokyochuchu — 03 Aug 2012
The Mechanic is a short, sharp burst of robust action-schlock. The action sequences themselves are excellent; full of excitement, descent stunts and minimal CGI trickery. The acting is also a notch or two above average.
The plot and dialogue are very pedestrian, though. There just aren't any surprises in the story or script. That said, The Mechanic barrels along so quickly that it hardly matters and it easily steamrolls the likes The Transporter in the entertainment department.
Basically speaking, it's a good action flick.
