Review of The Mechanic (2011) by Weisberger — 02 Feb 2011
The discrepancy between the critic and civilian scores on this movie is interesting. It's actually quite a good movie of its type - an action thriller. Both Jason Statham and Ben Foster do excellent jobs as the protagonists, the plot is fun, the villain is villainous.
It moves along crisply and I thought it was better than the Charles Bronson original (which is pretty good considering this one doesn't have Charles Bronson). If you want a straightforward action flick you'll enjoy this one.
