Review of The Mean Season (1985) by Dave C — 15 Apr 2005

First half an hour is pretty cool, as it deals with MI6 being obsolete. After that it's fairly standard and often dull. Never been a big fan of the underwater action sequences in Bond flicks. Nice to see Connery's Bond again.
All in all an interesting movie, as it's one of the 2 (3 if you count made for TV Casino Royale) unofficial Bond flicks.
Fairly entertaining standard thriller. Saved by Kurt Russel.
Contains some stupid stuff though, such as a reporter who doesn't even bother checking his articles. We pretty much learned this in our first class.
.
