Review of The Maze Runner (2014) by Shawn M — 01 Aug 2015

I was very hesitant to see this film. I thought it was going to be just some 'Hunger Games' rip-off, but it turned out to be instead a 'Lord of the Flies' twisted rip-off. The film should have just cut out the last 2 minutes (or the last 2 death scenes) because it was unnecessary and stupid. The rest of the film however was quite entertaining. So much that I may end up seeing the sequel in theaters come September.

But this film did lack characters. Aside from Thomas I don't care what happens to a single one of the survivors because they didn't show enough personality to matter. Not even Teresa, who is clearly Thomas's future love interest. I hope the sequel works on that.
