Review of The Maze Runner (2014) by Tvjerry — 21 Sep 2014
Yet another YA bestseller comes to the screen. This time the dystopia is a "glade" inhabited by adolescent boys and surrounded by a massive labyrinth. As is typical with this genre, the new boy (Dylan O'Brien) arrives, challenges the traditional thinking and ventures more deeply into the maze's mysteries.
There's a bit of action, but mostly paranoia and confusion, as discussed often and intensely by the young cast. The premise does set up an intriguing scenario, but the end merely serves as a teaser for the sequel.
