Review of The Maze Runner (2014) by Lamontraymond — 18 Sep 2014
It's a fun and energetic movie for the most part, and Dylan O'Brien (the comic relief from "Teen Wolf") is an excellent new leading man. It almost felt like the entire first season of the CW's "100" in 2 hours.
However, much like many other of YA novel-to-movie flicks, it ends with a massive "to be continued" scenario, so you never really get to the guts of what's going on. Sure, I'll probably see the second one, but this trend in not creating first-installment sci-fi films that can stand on their own (like the initial Star Wars) is becoming troublesome.
