Movie Adaption Review.

The Maze Runner.

The movie adaptation for the book, The Maze Runner, was okay, but could have been better.

In the book, the map room was pictured inside the glade, but in the movie, it was in the forest. This makes it okay and not great, because since it is in the forest, and everyone stayed in the glade the night the grievers came, it never got burned down. Since it never got burned down, we didn't get to see the secret room, which I thought would have been pretty cool. A good thing, which makes it okay instead of bad is that there still is a map room.

Another reason this is okay is because how the gladers escape the maze is different. In the book, Thomas and Minho find the griever hole in the cliff, then have to plan to figure out the escape code.Then, Thomas gets himself stung to get his memories back. With Thomas's memories the gladers organize a plan to escape the maze through the griever hole. When they are at the griever hole, they fight through many grievers just to get in, then Teresa punches in the password just as the grievers are coming into the hole. In the movie, Thomas and Minho find `the exit with the device Thomas found from the griever he killed. After a night when the doors didn't close, everyone went out to find the secretexit.when they found the secret exit, there was just one griever there. Teresa and Chuck got past it to punch in the code, which was the maze sections in order of when they were open. This makes it just okay and not great, because there was a lot of things skipped. There could have been Thomas, Teresa, Minho, and Newt figuring out the code, or the gladers getting surrounded by grievers, passing through a wall into the griever hole, or the inside of the griever hole. That would have made it a lot better.

A third thing that made it okay and not great is that Thomas killed a griever during his night in the maze in the movie, but not in the book. He only avoided the grievers in the book. This makes it only okay, because we didn't see a lot of things that I think we could have seen, like his dodge move at the cliff, or do anything else. Since he killed the griever though, even though it was cool, I didn't really like it because finding the thing in it left out a lot of parts near the end, because they didn't need it, because they knew how to get out.

Therefore, the movie adaptation of the maze runner was only okay and not good, because there was a lot left out, some parts weren't as clear, and it just could have been better.
