Review of The Matrix Revolutions (2003) by Timothy H — 29 Dec 2011
A sort of mini-disaster, I'm not sure the movie deserves all 2 stars, but when viewed as an overbloated conclusion to the stellar Matrix Reloaded, it sort of works. Sort of. In a coup to get more money, WB decided to film 2 Matrix sequels back to back, and by doing this, they unknowingly ruined the end product.
You see, it seems quite obvious to this reviewer that the Wachowski Brothers (the directors) had only one movie's worth of ideas for a sequel. When they were told they would get to do two, they simply unevenly and poorly might I add, split that single script into two unbalanced films.
Reloaded (the second film) seemed to get all the cool stuff (the burly brawl with 1,000 agent smiths, the awesome car chase, the interesting story conundrums and wild expositions) while this movie is literally the **** end of the stick (use your imagination lol).
The movie is so boring, the answers to your questions so unsatisfying, and the events so contrary to what you will want to happen that you wonder how it was possible for the Wachowskis to mess up this bad.
It was. A mess that left the Matrix trilogy in shambles.
