Review of The Matrix Revolutions (2003) by James A — 25 Nov 2012
A film that starts off excellently takes a fatal swoop into a poorly written ending that can only be the product of rushed development and sloppy thinking on behalf of the writers. Matrix Revolutions takes an already great saga and brings it down a peg, with a final fight sequence that is almost laughably exaggerated and a CGI war that hurts to watch completely.
This film had so much potential to be better than what it was, but instead delivers approximately twenty minutes of interesting moments and then a nosedive down to the pits of an ending that can only be described as a half-baked thought where you leave as many loose ends as you can so you can make video games and animated films to tie this all up.
Honestly, these writers got sloppy and so did the general production crew that allowed this to be done to the classic saga, now turned into two great movies. I wouldn't recommend a purchase, but I would tell you to watch it on cable, if you want to give it a try.
Who knows? Maybe you disagree.
