After the disappointing "Reloaded" ended with the promise of an epic conclusion to the trilogy, audiences were cautiously optimistic that the third and final installment Neo´s quest will redeem the franchise and end on a high note.

Right after the events of the last film, Neo finds himself trapped between the Matrix and the real world for reasons unknown, meanwhile Sentinels have finally reach Zion thus beginning humanity´s last stand.

Having already been disappointed by both of "Revolutions" predecessors , I didn't expected anything different from this film just to continue to have the quality the franchise is known for and, as expected, this final chapter left something to be desire. "Revolutions" pays for the mistakes made by the last installments: The heavy handed philosophical dialog don't pay off, the unsympathetic characters dissolves any tension this battle may have had, the excessive use of CGI takes you out of the experience, all the promising ideas that "Reloaded" introduced are thrown away, the action scenes are forgettable and bland because of the excessive use of CGI, the only actors that gave solid performances (Fishburne and Weaving) are given nothing to do, it lacks memorable scenes like the ones that made "The Matrix" rewatchable and saved "Reloaded", the unfocused directing continues and is even more obvious, and it feels like the Wachowski brothers tried to replicate the epic feel of "The Return of The King" by having the same storylines: One where most characters are in the middle of an all-out war while the two main characters are on quest to destroy the main enemy; but the entire Matrix saga lack the elements that made the LOTR trilogy amazing to begin with.

"The Matrix Revolutions" is one of the most forgettable final chapters that I can think of, fans of this series will enjoy it to some degree but casual viewers like me will definitely watch more their clock than the actual film.
