It feels like the synopsis of a really great 4 hour movie. It lacked flow and seemed to skip tonnes of exposition. The writing was sloppy and cinematography lacked any nuance. The story, CGI and action is great though.
The movie makes sense from a chronological standpoint, but there a many leaps in the timing. For example: The first time Morpheus attempts to contact Neo is immediately followed by a 2nd attempt - it feels like a complete scene is missing between them.
Perhaps the directors cut will be more compelling.
