Review of The Matrix Reloaded (2003) by Jeff B — 04 Aug 2012
(See my Matrix rating for additional details.) The only reason I'm not as big a fan of Reloaded as I am of The Matrix is the lack of dynamic and forced dialogue in the scenes outside the matrix. It's as if everyone went to the acting school of pissed. And OK, I understand the seriousness of the moment, Zion is in peril, but there's just as great a peril in the Matrix but much greater dynamic. Plus the outside scenes seem to go on forever. Not interested, really.
I love the dialogue between Neo and The Oracle (she of the cool and calm) I also love Merovingian's insightful soliloquy on cause and effect, human emotion, and the myth of truth.
Inside the Matrix it is a world of greater understanding, intrigue, deceit, trials and tribs. Just so much more interesting than the un-dynamic reality outside.
