Review of The Matrix Reloaded (2003) by Andy S — 21 Apr 2012
Has some good action, but as a follow-up to the first, its a major disappointment. While the first was simply cool, with the fascinating story driving the effects, this film is incredibly cheesy, overwhelmed by CGI, pseudo-philosophical nonsense, and plays like bad fan fiction.
Morpheus seems to have completely lost his sense of fun and humor, wearing a robotically serious face and spouting nothing but prophetic cliches meant to sound deep. This takes the potentially awesome mythology of the first film and removes everything that was cool about it.
I feel more comfortable pretending that The Matrix sequels don't exist.
