Review of The Matrix (1999) by Amanda W — 25 Aug 2015
The entertainment factor is upped to two stars by the innovative special effects that passed as interesting in the late nineties, and an absurd premise you ultimately won't care enough about to dissect past the initial thirty seconds of derisive laughter.
Adolescent boys and their pseudointellectual undergrad big brothers will circlejerk to the abundance of guns and pop philosophy's condemnation of 'sheeple', but the rest of us were rolling our eyes and glancing at the clock.
Decent acting might have made the phenomenally atrocious dialogue more bearable, but we'll never know for sure.
