Review of The Matrix (1999) by Nick C — 18 Jun 2013
If there is one film I have seen more than all my comic-book films it is this one. Since seeing it in the theater to this day, I think I have seen this film almost 50 times. This is what makes this film perfect to me.
If you had not grown up with this film you may not appreciate it as much to this day, due to the fact that their are now thousands of films that use incredible effects and action sequences have really evolved in the last decade.
But this film really started the innovative bullet time and the fight sequences still remain the best I have ever seen. The acting may not be the best seeing it 15 years later but overall this hero journey created a stepping stone for future action films and hero arcs.
I will still be able to watch Neo fight the agents another 50 times more and it will never get old.
