Review of The Matrix (1999) by Raphael Georg K — 17 May 2013
When you think or hear the word Matrix, you immediately think of a man dodging bullets. Well, it's much more than that! Explain in words is impossible.
Once the movie starts, you are immediately thrust into the vision of the Wachowski brothers. 2 hours of pure emotion, later you get to know what the Matrix is??, and it sticks in your head forever.
This is an excellent movie, with an exellent cast. Keanu Reeves (Neo) is fantastic; The Wachowski brothers have an excellent direction and a brilliant philosophical vision. The action sequences and special effects are simply fantastic.
The main question that the film raises you is "what is real, how do you define real?" And of course, "What is the Matrix?".
Keanu Reeves becomes "the chosen one", Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) is a revelation, and Lawrence Fishburnne is the famous "Morpheus", not to mention Hugo Weaving as the famous villain "Agent Smith".
You can see in this review that I do not reveal what the Matrix is. As the movie trailer says: "You have to see for yourself!".
