Review of The Matrix (1999) by Phillip D — 24 Nov 2013
Unarguably Keanu Reeves best movie, The Matrix is the precedent for all other movies after it, spawning numerous copies, including its own sequels and Inception(yes I said it, come and get me fanboys).
This movie is ground zero for so much of what we see and hear in current action movies. Not to mention, the plot is truly ingenious, the world is marvelously expansive and the supporting cast is equal to the task of backing Reeves in his best role.
This movie takes us in, like Reeves into The Matrix and immerses us in a world we relate to philosophically, morally and spiritually. This is a true classic. Just don't see the sequels.
