I've read and watched a lot of SiFi in my life but I've never encountered the central concept behind this story. Humans as biological batteries, mind bending.
It's unfortunate the sequel's couldn't live up to the original film and the producers opted for the hollywood ending.
Imagine if Neo's final discovery was that humans were in fact originally created for use as bio-batteries, #mind-bender.
