Review of The Matador (2005) by Mike H — 09 Jan 2008
This script is built entirely on Pierce Brosnan's shoulders, and he carries the film well. The other performances are good or great, but without Brosnan the film would have no purpose for existing.
He plays a wonderful anti-Bond hitman. When the director sets up jokes, Brosnan easily knocks them down. The production is a cut-and-dry operation, but Matador is worth the watch if you want some easy entertainment.
