Review of The Matador (2005) by Will S — 06 Mar 2008
Absolute rock. Brosnan, Kinnear *and* Davis (playing the often-thankless role of Best Wife Evar, which here manages to be believable and genuine) connect gloriously with their characters--it's a film about growth or lack thereof, aging (in much the same way JACKIE BROWN is) and burn-out which also happens to be tight, tense, wonderfully shot and full of inventive, cheesy, emotionally-apt musical cues.
A damn good time.
