The Masked Saint had me intrigued because of its story, which is quite similar to Here Comes the Boom and Nacho Libre, but also a Christian faith-based movie. I was hoping this time I won't see any propaganda, and I'm so happy there was very little of it! The story follows Chris, a former pro-wrestler that went by the name of The Saint, who moves with his wife and daughter to a new town in order to be the pastor of the town's church.

Unfortunately, the church is in great debts and there aren't many people coming to the sermons. So, Chris once again gets involved with wrestling in order to get money for the church, bu that's not all.

He also becomes a masked vigilante. It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? That's because it is! This movie had me laughing out loud for a lot of times. Mostly not because it was trying to be funny, it was just plain ridiculous and highly unbelievable (even though it's 'based on a real story').

The main character of Chris is likeable, although he can get a bit preachy near the end. His wife and daughter are also likeable, though the actor portraying his daughter was very cringe-worthy, as expected.

I really liked how this movie didn't follow the steps of God's not Dead and didn't make all Christians the best people in the world, we all have flaws, don't we? Anyways, the acting is average.

It's really nothing special and most of the actors do an okay job, though at times it really looked cringe-worthy. The direction is, also, nothing special. There's no special style of directing the scenes, it's just generic.

There are movies where you can recognize the director by seeing how the movie looks like, this is not the case. This one gets lost in the sea of unoriginality. The soundtrack is what made me laugh a lot.

It's so cheesy and there's too much of songs in the movie! It also didn't fit in with most of the scenes. At one point I was, like, oh this is good, I like this scene, but then a cheesy Christian song started playing and I was, like, well, that doesn't work.

The wrestling scenes are entertaining, even though they look way too fake. All in all, I found this movie very entertaining, funny (although most of the time, unintentionally funny) and even with the bad acting, boring direction and an overpopulation of Christian songs, I still cannot say that I didn't enjoy it, because I really did.

I wouldn't recommend this movie that much, though. I like movies that are funny-bad, but most of the people don't. So, tread carefully.
